Hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM (in your time zone, flexible hours)

SUMMARY  
We’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our agency by identifying, pursuing and closing Agency of Record and high-value project opportunities across the North American agriculture industry. You will manage and grow a strategic sales pipeline, supported by internal subject matter experts, creative and marketing teams. 

You’ll take ownership of the account-based sales strategy and pipeline development, while helping ensure new clients are set up for long-term success. This role requires a sharp sales strategist with a proven track record of consultative, insight-driven selling, a strong network, and the ability to lead with both data and heart. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES  
  • Contribute to meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets. 
  • Generate and convert Agency of Record and large project opportunities that align with our ideal client profile. 
  • Build a network and connect with industry leaders who fit our ideal client profile and target industries.  
  • Lead pitch development from start to finish — from insight gathering and strategy creation to deck development and final delivery. 
  • Conduct in-depth prospect and industry research to inform positioning, sales strategy, and proposal content. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to align outbound initiatives, content strategy, and campaign planning with sales goals. 
  • Partner with Strategy and Creative leads to craft tailored proposals and presentations that reflect client challenges, Think Shift’s value proposition, and expected outcomes. 
  • Work with the Business Development Executive to write and review sales proposals, ensuring clarity, alignment with client needs, and adherence to Think Shift’s tone and standards. 
  • Develop and manage a qualified pipeline of “right-fit” prospects, primarily in the agriculture sector. 
  • Deliver clear and timely sales reporting — pipeline health, conversion metrics, win/loss trends, and forecasts. 
  • Ensure smooth handoffs to client delivery teams, with a focus on setting up strong renewal potential. 
  • Maintain strong use of our CRM to track activity, performance, and forecasting. 
  • Stay informed and share knowledge about industry trends, competitive activity, and sales best practices. 

We’re looking for  
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the agriculture industry, agency environment, or relevant consulting services. 
  • Proven success closing $250K+ Agency of Record or complex project deals. 
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic sales planning, proposal development, and pitching. 
  • High business and financial acumen — comfortable pricing, scoping, and negotiating large-scale engagements. 
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM/sales enablement tools. 
  • A builder mindset — able to adapt and evolve systems, processes, and approach in a growing environment. 
  • Leadership experience, even in a small-team context — with a passion for coaching and collaboration. 
  • Background in branding, consulting, strategy, or marketing services. 
  • Comfort working in a remote, cross-functional team.
